Warning: Make sure the router bit is properly fastened and tightened in the router’s collet and the bit can rotate freely without any obstructions.
Instructions: Slowly dial up the RPMs on your router to the recommended maximum. Then, dial back if needed to find the “sweet spot”. The sweet spot is the speed at which the least resonant vibration is present. If the sweet spot cannot be achieved within 5,000 RPMs of the max, check the collet for residue or other debris and start over.

Best used for: Standard milling, dadoing, and boring.
Up-cut endmills direct woodchips up and away from the milling area leaving an unobstructed path for the endmill. Bit breakage is less likely. Up cut end mills are the best choice for most standard millling applications. The up cut direction can leave behind a minimally rough top surface edge.
Pros: Quick and efficient milling, chip removal.
Cons: Can cause minimal top surface edge roughness or tear-away.
(Choose a down cut spiral bit for projects that require smooth top surface edges.)
